Melalui program Pengabdian Dosen Berbasis Pemberdayaan (PDB), UMS mendampingi Kelompok Budidaya (KBD) Suharno di Desa Kaligentong, Kecamatan Gladagsari, Boyolali, untuk implementasi teknologi sumur dalam dan irigasi tetes.<\/p>\n<p>Program ini bertujuan untuk mendukung pengembangan budidaya singkong varietas Kingkong yang menjadi komoditas unggulan lokal. Kegiatan ini mendapatkan dukungan pendanaan dari Direktorat Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (DPPM) Direktorat Jenderal Riset dan Pengembangan Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi, Sains, dan Teknologi Republik Indonesia dengan Nomor Kontrak PDB: 120.6\/A.3-III\/LPMPP\/V\/2025.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_29554\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-29554\" style=\"width: 1920px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-29554\" src=\"https:\/\/news.ums.ac.id\/id\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/09\/FotoNewsUMS.zip-Atasi-Krisis-Air-UMS-Terapkan-Teknologi-Sumur-Dalam-dan-Irigasi-Tetes-untuk-Budidaya-Singkong-Kingkong.jpeg\" alt=\"Instalasi sistem irigasi tetes untuk memberikan pasokan air\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-29554\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Instalasi sistem irigasi tetes untuk memberikan pasokan air<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Ketua tim pelaksana PDB, Prof. Dr. Muhtadi, M.Si., menyampaikan bahwa pendampingan ini merupakan bentuk nyata kontribusi perguruan tinggi terhadap kebutuhan masyarakat.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMelalui integrasi sumur dalam dan teknologi irigasi tetes, kami ingin memberikan solusi atas keterbatasan air yang sering dialami petani, khususnya saat musim kemarau. Teknologi ini terbukti efisien, hemat air, dan dapat meningkatkan kualitas bibit singkong Kingkong,\u201d ujar Muhtadi saat dimintai keterangan, Rabu (17\/9).<\/p>\n<p>Pengabdian ini meliputi pembangunan sumur dalam untuk menjamin ketersediaan air permanen, instalasi sistem irigasi tetes sederhana, serta pelatihan dan pendampingan petani. Sistem ini diharapkan tidak hanya membantu meningkatkan produktivitas bibit, tetapi juga memperkuat kapasitas petani dalam menguasai teknologi tepat guna.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cModel ini bisa direplikasi di wilayah lain sehingga memberi dampak luas bagi ketahanan pangan berbasis komoditas lokal,\u201d papar Muhtadi.<\/p>\n<p>Muhtadi berharap melalui program ini, sinergi antara perguruan tinggi dan kelompok tani dapat menjadi model kolaborasi yang mampu meningkatkan kesejahteraan petani sekaligus menjaga keberlanjutan sumber daya alam.<\/p>\n<p>Muhtadi memandang, kegiatan pendampingan ini tidak hanya memperkuat daya saing komoditas singkong Kingkong di Boyolali, tetapi juga menjadi bagian dari upaya pemberdayaan masyarakat desa berbasis ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi.<\/p>\n<p>Mitra program, Suharno selaku ketua kelompok tani setempat, mengungkapkan rasa syukur atas pendampingan dari UMS.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKami selama ini kesulitan air ketika musim kemarau. Dengan adanya sumur dalam dan irigasi tetes, bibit singkong bisa tumbuh lebih seragam dan tidak banyak yang mati.
