Produk ini dikembangkan sebagai upaya pencegahan hipertensi pada lansia melalui program Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat Ormawa (PPO) tahun 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Kelima mahasiswa tersebut yakni Dirhayuni Anggun Sisrah, Miftahul Arifin, Naulifa Ramadhani Darmawan, Fadhilah Nur Afifah, dan Chisaditha Olifianda Ramadhani. Inovasi ini dibimbing langsung oleh dosen pendamping Firmansyah, M.Gz., dari FIK UMS yang juga mendukung riset berbasis kesehatan preventif di lingkungan kampus.<\/p>\n<p>Dalam penelitian ini, bunga rosella dipilih karena mengandung antosianin, flavonoid, dan vitamin C yang berfungsi sebagai antioksidan alami. Sedangkan apel dikenal mengandung senyawa quercetin dan katekin, dua zat fenolik yang terbukti mendukung kesehatan jantung dan membantu menurunkan tekanan darah.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-30676\" src=\"https:\/\/news.ums.ac.id\/id\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/10\/FotoNewsUMS.zip-Cegah-Hipertensi-pada-Lansia-Mahasiswa-UMS-Kembangkan-Teh-Kaya-Antioksidan-dari-Rosella-dan-Apel.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cKombinasi keduanya kami yakini mampu memberikan efek sinergis dalam menjaga kestabilan tekanan darah,\u201d kata Ketua Tim PPO FIK UMS, Dirhayuni Anggun Sisrahpada, saat diwawancarai pada Selasa (21\/10).<\/p>\n<p>Ia menambahkan, berdasarkan data Organisasi Kesehatan Dunia (WHO), lebih dari 972 juta orang di dunia menderita hipertensi dan angka tersebut diperkirakan akan terus meningkat. Sementara di Indonesia, prevalensi hipertensi pada kelompok lansia mencapai lebih dari 60 persen, sehingga diperlukan langkah preventif yang mudah dan aman.<\/p>\n<p>Selama kurang lebih dua bulan, tim melakukan penelitian intensif di laboratorium FIK UMS menggunakan metode spektrofotometer UV-Vis untuk mengukur kadar flavonoid total. Hasil uji menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kadar flavonoid pada teh rosella dengan penambahan apel dibandingkan rosella murni, yang menandakan peningkatan potensi antioksidannya.<\/p>\n<p>Selain pengujian laboratorium, tim juga melakukan uji publik terhadap rasa dan aroma produk. Proses ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui tingkat penerimaan masyarakat terhadap inovasi teh herbal tersebut. Hasilnya menunjukkan respons positif dari para panelis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRasanya segar, tidak terlalu asam, dan aroma apelnya cukup terasa. Kalau diminum setiap hari, saya rasa banyak yang akan suka,\u201d ujar Dani, salah satu panelis yang mencoba produk teh rosella-apel tersebut.<\/p>\n<p>Dosen pembimbing, Firmansyah, M.Gz., mengapresiasi semangat riset para mahasiswa yang mampu menggabungkan aspek ilmiah dan sosial.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cProgram PPO ini bukan hanya wadah untuk penelitian, tapi juga sarana mahasiswa belajar menerapkan ilmu secara nyata bagi masyarakat,\u201d tuturnya.<\/p>\n<p>Ke depannya, tim berharap inovasi teh herbal ini tidak hanya berhenti pada tahap penelitian akademik, tetapi dapat dikembangkan lebih lanjut untuk produksi komersial. Mereka juga berencana bekerja sama dengan pelaku UMKM dan komunitas lansia di sekitar Surakarta untuk memperluas manfaat produk ini.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKami ingin teh rosella-apel ini benar-benar hadir di pasaran sebagai solusi praktis, sehat, dan terjangkau, terutama bagi para lansia yang ingin menjaga kualitas hidup di masa tua,\u201d pungkas Miftahul Arifin, salah satu anggota tim PPO FIK UMS.
