Inovasi bernama BIOSHIELD-DEO tersebut memanfaatkan metabolit Lactobacillus dan ekstrak daun sirih untuk membantu menghambat patogen penyebab bau badan melalui modulasi mikrobioma kulit.<\/p>\n<p>BIOSHIELD-DEO dikembangkan sebagai deodoran balm dengan pendekatan yang tidak hanya berfokus pada pengendalian bau badan, tetapi juga memperhatikan keseimbangan ekosistem alami kulit atau skin microbiome.<\/p>\n<p>Inovasi tersebut dikembangkan oleh tim PKM-K UMS yang terdiri atas Putri Sanjita Alcha selaku ketua, Irbah Afiifah Zahra, dan Dyah Ayu Oki Rahmadhani dari Program Studi Biologi, serta Nadya Putri Adisty dan Nandifa Azzahra Salsabila dari Program Studi Farmasi. Tim tersebut didampingi Endang Setyaningsih, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBIOSHIELD-DEO merupakan inovasi deodoran balm berbahan dasar bioteknologi postbiotik dan ekstrak bahan alam lokal yang dikembangkan untuk mengatasi bau badan tanpa menyumbat pori-pori sekaligus menjaga keseimbangan ekosistem alami kulit ketiak,\u201d jelas Putri, Rabu (26\/8\/2026).<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_40590\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-40590\" style=\"width: 1920px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-40590\" src=\"https:\/\/news.ums.ac.id\/id\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/08\/Mahasiswa-UMS-Kembangkan-BIOSHIELD-DEO-Inovasi-Deodoran-Postbiotik-Berbasis-Metabolit-Lactobacillus-dan-Ekstrak-Daun-Sirih.jpg\" alt=\"Tim PKM-K UMS dengan produk inovasi BIOSHIELD-DEO\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-40590\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tim PKM-K UMS dengan produk inovasi BIOSHIELD-DEO<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Dua bahan utama yang digunakan dalam BIOSHIELD-DEO adalah Lactobacillus Ferment Lysate (postbiotik) dan ekstrak daun sirih. Lactobacillus Ferment Lysate disebut membantu menghambat kolonisasi bakteri penyebab bau badan sekaligus menjaga keseimbangan mikrobioma kulit secara alami. Sementara itu, ekstrak daun sirih memiliki kandungan senyawa seperti eugenol dan kavikol yang disebut efektif menekan bakteri penyebab bau tanpa merusak integritas pertahanan kulit.<\/p>\n<p>Pendekatan tersebut menjadi bagian dari upaya tim untuk mengembangkan produk perawatan kulit ketiak yang memadukan teknologi postbiotik dengan pemanfaatan bahan alam lokal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBIOSHIELD-DEO juga dikembangkan dengan mempertimbangkan kepraktisan penggunaan. Produk berbentuk deodoran balm tersebut digunakan dengan cara dioleskan secara tipis dan merata pada kulit ketiak yang bersih dan kering, kemudian dibiarkan hingga meresap,\u201d tambah Putri.<\/p>\n<p>Produk juga diarahkan sebagai sediaan yang praktis dan mengutamakan mutu, serta standar bahan yang ramah terhadap ekosistem alami kulit ketiak. Harganya sendiri dibandrol dengan harga Rp22.000,00 dan memiliki dua varian yaitu lemon dan rose.<\/p>\n<p>Melalui inovasi tersebut, tim PKM-K UMS berupaya menghadirkan alternatif perawatan diri yang menggabungkan bioteknologi postbiotik, bahan alam lokal, dan pendekatan mikrobioma kulit dalam satu produk deodoran.
