Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) in collaboration with the Indonesian National Army Kodim 0726 Sukoharjo and Omah Sambung organized a vaccination program which took place at the Edutorium Building KH Ahmad Dahlan UMS on Tuesday, (5/10/2021).

Deputy Chancellor 4 and Chair of the UMS Covid-19 Task Force, Prof. Dr. Em Sutrisna, M.D. explained that the target of the vaccination program this time was 1,500 people consisting of UMS students, families of lecturers, education staff, and the general public over 12 years old.

“We have three targets for vaccination this time, namely UMS students, families of lecturers and staff, and the general public over 12 years old,” explained Em Sutrisna, himself also a practicing medical doctor.

He also reminded the public to maintain the “5M protocol”, namely, washing hands, wearing masks, maintaining distance, staying away from crowds, and reducing mobility.

“I advise residents that even though vaccines have been spread everywhere and Covid-19 cases are starting to decline, keep 5M!,” he said.

As for Muchamad Nabil Harun, S.Pd., M.Hum., as a member of Commission 9 of the DPR-RI who also reviewed the vaccination program, he said he was satisfied with the implementation of mass vaccines at UMS. He also hoped that the vaccination program held at the UMS Edutorium, could increase the community’s immunity, and the public would be more alert to the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

“I hope that with this program, people will be more alert and their body’s immunity will increase against the Coronavirus,” said the member of the DPR-RI.
